This year is different though! The in-game world event for Love is in the Air received a major face-lift this year. We have a completely different system for the [Love Token] and the needed achievement items / vanity items. Many sites like WoW.com and MMO-Champ have laid out the details but it’s a good change to this holiday. You can now guarantee grabbing a Peddlefeet!

I’m actually not to worried about getting it complete on my alts with this nerf/change.

I am not attending Blizzcon this year sadly but I’ve been watching it all day thanks to the online-stream service!  For only $40 you get access to 18+ hours of live Blizzcon plus the Grunty murloc marine pet.  Today was the first day of two for Blizzcon and I definitively do not regret buying the online-stream.

There were a lot of cool costumes for the contest and the dance contest is still in progress as I post this.  Some were great but there others just didn’t ‘have it’.

As everyone knows from MMO-Champion or WoWInsider (or in-game Trade Chat), the next expansion is official now: Cataclysm.

During the Class Discussions panel, the Warlock change for Soul Shards was mentioned. MMO-Champion has a good post on it already:

• Soul Shards are no longer in your bags. The goal is to make them fun, not a hassle.
• Soul Shards will be integrated to the user interface. (Just like Death Knight runes)
• You get three shards per fight, they will regen very quickly out of combat.
• It will be possible to get more for long fights or mistakes through Drain Soul.
• Soul Burn (New Spell) : Cost 1 Shard, 30 sec cooldown, off the GCD. Empowers your next spell, many (not all spells) behave differently when empowered.
• They are only used in combat, summons or demons won’t use your shards.

In the evening, I was grouped with some friends and we queued for Arathi Basin battlegrounds.  I managed to grab the achievement [Disgracin' The Basin] while we killed…

Side note: The guild is not doing well on attendance and such — We did not get the chance to do any 25mans this week and even our 10man only ran one night sadly.  Hoping for change soon…

I must say that I’m glad the festival is a whole two weeks.  The start of my week-long family vacation this year was also the start of the festival in WoW. So the first thing I did when I arrived home last weekend was to go through and do the entire world event on my main character.

After completing  [The Flame Warden] on my warlock I realized that he made at least 750g or more from doing the event!  From there I thought about my two level 80 alts and how horrible there current titles (Jenkins & Stormwind) were.

So it began, I logged over to my DeathKnight the next day and started traveling the world to every bonfire, just like my main character did. After completing the event and earning Coldarra’s new title over the course of two days I then thought, “I made like 1000g and achieved a new title!”

It was time for the 2nd alt, Mazer then completed the event which I did in one day’s time.  Unlike my other two level 80s, Mazer leveled a lot through instances so he had not traveled much of the world.  So in the process of getting him a new title, I also picked up any flight paths he was missing. (DeathKnights are created with all Eastern Kingdoms & Kalimdor flight points with the exception of Ghostlands.)

So what did I do this week? I worked towards and completed [The Flame Warden] on three level 80s!
